Event Details

Discover the essential blueprint within every yoga posture. These weekend modules will reveal how each asana has its own architecture – built on strong foundations, precise alignment, and intelligent design. When you learn and understand the structure of a pose, your practice becomes a tool that creates space for your mind and body to connect. Over the weekend, we will explore foundational standing poses, seated postures, forward extensions, and backward extensions, paying close attention to how each pose is built from the base up. You will learn practical techniques to refine alignment, use props intelligently, and create a sense of stability and freedom in your practice. Join us to deepen your awareness, refine your technique, and transform the way you approach yoga – from the ground up.

*Please note that while participation in both the Friday and Sunday session is encouraged, you may attend only 1 session as they can also stand alone.

Nick began the study of yoga in 2001 and has been fascinated by the practice and its teachings ever since. In 2005 he began teaching, received a certification from Sri Dharma Mitra in 2008, and most recently in 2019, completing the Teacher Education program at the Iyengar Institute of New York where he continues to apprentice and study with Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Matt Dreyfus. Being an avid practitioner of Iyengar Yoga has shifted Nick’s teaching to explore the commonalities between the (richness of) Iyengar method and the greater yoga community. In his teaching, he has had the opportunity to lead trainings and workshops on both the east and west coasts, and is grateful to work with a wide range of students of all capabilities, capacities, and walks of life. In addition to yoga, Nick has been a long term meditation practitioner and in 2020 became a certified mindfulness facilitator. His mindfulness work has included Pfizer, ING, and The Arcus Foundation. Nick’s positive energy as well as creative and skilled teaching help him in achieving his goal of inspiring others to develop a deeper understanding of how these practices can lead to more fulfillment in their lives and peace in their hearts. Seeing someone reach their potential is what inspires Nick about teaching yoga. It could be in an asana, or, even more rewarding, when you see their joy come into their life.
