Event Details

Join Anna Haddad and Brianna Hawk for a special collaboration of Somatic movement and Sound Meditation! Somatic movement is slow and intentional, focusing on holding and releasing. This allows us to deeper understand the way our bodies send us signals of imbalance, helping to refine our intuition. You’ll begin with a guided meditation, then move through exercises aimed to help re-educate the way our brain moves, holds, and senses our muscles. Then, you’ll be encouraged to find a comfortable position, with eyes closed, to take in the sounds emitted from instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, varying chimes and bells, drums, etc. Participants will be guided through an experience of pranayama, visualization, and vocalization to prepare for deep listening of these instruments. Intentionally sequenced, the sounds create a safe space for participants to enter a meditative state to down-regulate the nervous system and create a sense of ease and clarity.

Anna Haddad is a yoga + meditation teacher, Pilates instructor, sound practitioner, global retreat leader, and the Founder + CEO of ONEYOGAHOUSE, a New York-based yoga, Pilates, and sound meditation studio with locations in Brooklyn and pop ups in Montauk. She became a student of yoga when she found the practice as a complement to her black belt training in taekwon-do (she received her second-degree black belt in 2004). Yoga quickly became the one thing in her life that allowed her to tune in instead of out: at the time, she was working a demanding job in finance. Led by her intuition to open her heart and awareness, she left her career on Wall Street and completed her teacher training in 2012. Always drawn to entrepreneurship, Anna co-founded a grassroots activewear company in 2014, followed by a yoga studio in Montauk in 2017. Now, her vision for ONEYOGAHOUSE (in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn) is to create a business rooted in community, creativity, and connectivity, and to leave a lasting and positive impact on people’s lives. She is passionate about giving back: she loves connecting with students, community-based organizations, and female-owned businesses. She aims to make yoga accessible and a lifelong practice for everyone in the ONEYOGAHOUSE community. Anna has completed well over 1,500 hours of teacher trainings and mentorships in yoga, Pilates, meditation, and sound meditation facilitation, with Katonah Yoga, Lyt Yoga, Maya Yoga, Savitri Yoga Shal / Yogi Charu, Woom Center, David Shemesh, Yoga Vida, and Pure Yoga, and continues her studies and trainings in functional anatomy and meditation. She is a lululemon and Sakara Life Ambassador. Anna’s yoga classes are thoughtfully sequenced with intention setting, breath work, joint mobility, lymph work, and anatomy-based teachings to gently open the body in preparation for meditation. She teaches an alignment-focused practice that is intentional and grounding. With over a decade of experience as a yoga instructor and business owner, she has discovered a calm, resilient, and conscious state of mind that is still and compassionate, and she is inspired to guide others to reach higher inner states of joy, peace, and consciousness. A lifelong athlete, she has trained for and completed multiple marathons and triathlons, and numerous half marathons. She took up surfing as a hobby and has surfed the waves of Costa Rica, Hawaii, El Salvador, Nicaragua, California, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, and Montauk. Anna leads yoga retreats and workshops around the world, combining her love for travel with teaching movement and meditation. She teaches a wide range of corporate and wellness retreats and private group sessions. Follow her @‌annahaddadyoga and @‌oneyogahouse.

Brianna Hawk is a New York-based professional dancer, student, and yoga instructor. She started practicing yoga in high school to complement her dance training and find a way to soften more into herself. In the Spring of 2019, Brianna graduated with a BFA in dance from The University of the Arts located in Philadelphia. She received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification in the Sacred Valley of Peru with The School of Yoga Institute. Brianna is also currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She was led into this career path through dance and yoga, as movement and breath work had a profound effect on her own depression, anxiety, and hyperactive nervous system. It is her hope to bring a more grounded and holistic approach to the clinical therapy field. Brianna has a boundless passion for integrating movement, yoga, and somatic practices in order to help people come in tune with the visceral sensations of their physical bodies. Her class is focused on a deep connection between the breath, body, and spirit.
