Amira is on a mission to share yoga with as many people as possible, helping them lead more aligned lives in body and spirit.

She is an adventurous old soul, and a lover of movement and meditation. Amira completed her 200-hour teacher training at ONEYOGAHOUSE in DUMBO, Brooklyn, during a time in her life when she was craving more purpose and felt called to leave the world a better place through the practice of yoga.

She teaches vinyasa classes grounded in intelligent, specific sequencing that helps you connect to the present moment and feel more open and at ease in the body, supporting functional longevity. Breath carries the room throughout her classes, as asanas are explored both physically and esoterically.

You’ll leave Amira’s classes feeling agile, grounded, and connected to your authentic being. Amira welcomes all, but especially enjoys teaching those new to yoga and witnessing the transformation it can spark. Outside of yoga, Amira enjoys surfing, travel, and trying all the best restaurants in NYC.

Questions. Answers.

What makes a house a home?

The people in it; home is where the heart is!

What are you most passionate about outside yoga?

Currently, I’m obsessed with surfing. It is a challenging sport to learn, and the challenge fuels me. To me, surfing is yoga because it requires complete presence. I’m also a bit of a mermaid and love being in the water. Surfing at sunset is pure bliss to me.

What about teaching inspires you?

I love seeing the transformation in students from before class to after class. Life is so fast-paced, especially in a place like New York City. It’s easy to lose touch with what truly matters, your values, your unique purpose, and who you are. Through teaching, I love helping students slow down and create space to reconnect with their inner selves and their purpose.

Go-to Brooklyn Spot?

ONEYOGAHOUSE! As an Upper East Sider, I specifically come to OYH for the immaculate community and teachers. I love coming early or staying after class and walking in Brooklyn Bridge Park, especially during sunset.
