Questions. Answers.
What about teaching inspires you?
What inspires me most about teaching is the co-creative nature of each session with my students. Every class is unique, shaped by the individual experiences, emergent material, and emotional states of the students. There’s a Japanese expression that captures this perfectly: “Ichi-go ichi-e,” meaning “one time, one meeting”—a moment never to be repeated or replicated. I never take for granted how sacred that is.
Go to grounding pose?
Makarasana, or Crocodile Pose: Lying belly down, I allow my abdomen to rest with gravity. When I’m holding on to any energetic, mental, or emotional load, this pose helps me release that weight and reminds me that I am supported by the earth.
What is the biggest goal you want to accomplish in the next year?
I recently had my first child, and my goal is to be present and supportive during this crucial first year, which is foundational for his nervous system development.
What makes a house a home?
Music, books, and family.
