ONEYOGAHOUSE

One of the things I was really excited about in running my own yoga studio (in addition to offering yoga and meditation to the communities of Montauk and Brooklyn), was the chance to curate some of my favorite brands.

These brands include those founded and created by female entrepreneurs, Montauk and Brooklyn-based small local businesses, as well as photographers, authors, and artisans whose highest intentions and energy fill up the room, in our home away from home. Their products have allowed me to prioritize my students’ wellness to help nourish them, from the inside out.

Muscle Soaking Salt – Plant Magic by Ndidi

Only available in our Montauk studio

I first met Jennifer Ndidi, a NYC-based certified Aromatherapist, at a dinner in the West Village with mutual friends in the wellness industry. I invited her to come to my yoga class where she gifted me her beautiful oils and I was instantly hooked – I began to use them regularly on my private clients and students. She hand-blends ethically and sustainably sourced plants to bring their healing properties into her beautifully scented oils. My new favorite is her bath salts that are formulated with essential oils of wild lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint to ease sore muscles and relax the mind (great for post yoga). The lapis lazuli crystal alleviates inflammation and even exfoliates your skin!

Magnesium Ease - The Nue Co.

Available online or in our Montauk studio

I’ve been pretty obsessed with this brand once I discovered their vitamin C fast reacting powders which I add to all of my face serums prior to application. When I saw that they offer this magnesium spray, I immediately ordered them for our studios. I even keep this on my bedside table to use before bed as a natural sleep aid. Just three sprays absorbed through the skin will send me into a deep and restful sleep. Sometimes I pack the magnesium spray in my gym bag for a post-workout spritz to speed up muscle recovery after an intense workout or after teaching multiple yoga sessions.

Santal Minimalist Candle – Brooklyn Candle Studio

Only available in our Montauk studio

My Brand + Studio manager, Alyssa, first drew my attention to this local Brooklyn brand. Founder Tamara Mayne founded the company in 2013 and we are in love with her fragrance creations. The Santal candle is a “sultry masculine blend of earth and woods.” (Yes, we light the candle during The Sultry ONE, a vinyasa flow class that moves at a slower, sweeter pace). The 100% soy candles are filled with an array of scents as you burn through each layer. When I burn my Santal candle the hints of vetiver, sandalwood, cedar and Hinoki cypress swirl around and bring a feeling of warmth to my home, especially on a crisp Fall day.

Naomi Legging + matching Hooper Bra – Varley

Available online and in our Montauk studio

My fave Varley combo. This is my go-to when I want to feel a little more feminine during a workout or when I meet a friend post yoga for coffee or lunch. I love Varley’s seamless style and this outfit has detailing that stands apart from all the basics I have in my closet. The Hooper Bra is perfect for yoga and a light workout too – supports with confidence but comfortable for the longer days when I’m teaching back to back then running errands. The knit detailing adds a luxury feel that adds a little lift and gets me excited to start my busy day. Their clothing holds up really well, wash after wash!
